TL;DR
Head of Marketplace Operations (AI): Leading the Marketplace Operations & System Health team to optimize data integrity and marketplace reliability with an accent on incident management, data downtime reduction, and proactive system health monitoring. Focus on building self-healing capabilities, driving growth through data-driven strategies, and managing cross-functional teams to ensure a trusted and scalable marketplace.
Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Austin, Chicago, DC, or NYC. This is a hybrid role requiring in-office attendance on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
Compensation: $220,000 – $256,000 + equity + benefits.

What you will do
- Own the end-to-end optimization and health of marketplace operations and data pipelines.
- Define monitoring models, alerting thresholds, and SLAs to ensure marketplace reliability.
- Lead the incident lifecycle, including detection, triage, resolution, and post-mortem reviews.
- Embed Lean/Six Sigma disciplines to systematically reduce root causes of quality issues.
- Manage and develop the Marketplace Operations team, providing strategic direction and coaching.
- Drive an AI-centric approach to monitoring, investigating, and scaling operations.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in data operations, marketplace/platform ops, or system data reliability engineering.
- Proven cross-functional leadership experience across Data Engineering, Ops, and GTM/Sales.
- Strong expertise in incident management and owning data downtime as a KPI.
- Demonstrated ability to build health monitoring frameworks at scale.
- Strong data literacy and analytical fluency, including SQL and data pipeline awareness.
- Must be able to work in a hybrid capacity in Austin, Chicago, DC, or NYC.
