Tool Design Engineer (Aerospace)

Salary: $65.00 to $86.00 per hour

What you will do

• Develop 3D and 2D models and engineering drawings using CREO and/or CATIA software.
• Develop tooling requirements and prepare materials for design reviews.
• Author tool use instruction documents, ensuring clarity and accuracy for technicians.
• Conduct supplier analysis and maintain purchase order tracking documents.
• Perform load analyses for tools to verify structural adequacy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3–6 years of experience in tool design or manufacturing engineering within aerospace, defense, or a related industry.
• Proficiency in CREO and/or CATIA for 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation.
• Experience producing engineering drawings in .CATDrawing or .drw format.
• Must be either Green Card holder or US Citizen.

Nice to have

• Experience working on programs with NASA, commercial space, DOD space or other space/launch vehicle customers.
• Familiarity with requirement and design review processes and requirements management frameworks.
• Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) per ASME Y14.5.
