Oki, formerly Aleem, is hiring a Founding Fullstack Engineer.

We are building what we believe can become the last language-learning app people will ever need.

Not another flashcard app. Not another Duolingo clone. A full AI-native learning system that helps people actually become fluent.

We launched our first iOS app and reached 400,000+ downloads in the first few months — mostly in markets where 70–80% of users are on Android.

We also surpassed Duolingo in App Store rankings in 10 countries.

Now we have rebranded from Aleem to Oki, relaunched the product, and are building the next version from the ground up.

We are backed by an a16z Scout, and one of the biggest VCs in Central Asia is on our cap table. The company is currently valued at $9M.

We are looking for a strong Middle+ / Senior-leaning Fullstack Engineer who wants to join the founding team.

There will not always be perfect specs. There will not always be clean tickets. There will not always be someone telling you exactly what to do.

You will work directly with the founder and CTO, make product and technical decisions, and ship features that will be used by hundreds of thousands of learners.

-You will help build the core product layer of Oki: -AI-powered language-learning flows -Personalized learning experiences -Web and mobile product features -Internal tools for content, growth, and user behavior -Fast experiments for activation, retention, and monetization -Systems that can scale from hundreds of thousands to millions of users -Tech stack -TypeScript -Next.js App Router -SwiftUI -AI coding agents: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar

Requirements

-2+ years of commercial experience with TypeScript and Next.js -Strong product thinking -Ability to build fast without writing garbage code -Comfortable working with ambiguous requirements -Strong communication skills -High ownership -Active use of AI coding tools -Ability to work closely with non-technical and technical teammates
