What you will do

• Design and develop secure, scalable Java-based backend services for background screening platforms.
• Translate complex business requirements into reliable and maintainable technical solutions.
• Own features through the full SDLC, from design and implementation to deployment and support.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, and DevOps in an agile scrum environment.
• Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and architectural guidelines.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers to improve overall team capability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience developing backend applications in Java.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design and system design best practices.
• Experience building and consuming REST web services and working with SQL databases.
• Proven experience with full lifecycle development in a production SaaS environment.
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with Spring Boot, Spring JPA/Hibernate, and Spring Security.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and integration strategies.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure cloud development.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Terraform, or Terragrunt.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript.
