TL;DR

QHSE Associate: Supporting hirify.global’s EMEA operations by conducting manual audits, verifying contractor safety documentation, and ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and client-specific requirements with an accent on proactive engagement with EU suppliers and contractors. Focus on maintaining audit quality, providing technical guidance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams for continuous improvement.

Location: This role is offered on a hybrid working basis for candidates within commuting distance of our Maidenhead office, with an expected schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. Candidates who are located within a commutable distance are strongly preferred. This role requires full working rights in the UK without current or future sponsorship.

What you will do

• Conduct manual audits to assess contractor safety and health programs, procedures, and training documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and support to contractors to close audit gaps.
• Maintain accurate and timely records in contractor account notes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support EU supplier engagement and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of UK and EU HSE legislation and industry best practices.
• Familiarity with contractor prequalification and risk-based auditing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English is required.
• 2-year or 4-year degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred).
• 1–5 years of experience in safety auditing, contractor verification, or HSE program development.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in one or more EU languages (e.g., French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch) to support regional suppliers.
• NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent HSE certifications.
• Experience working with EU-based suppliers or in a multinational environment.
