TL;DR

Senior Manager Finance Business Partner (Banking): Providing commercial insight and financial storytelling for the Retail business with an accent on decision support, cost management, and forecasting. Focus on translating complex cost data into actionable recommendations and leading the direction of financial performance.

Location: Hybrid (Leeds, Edinburgh, Halifax, Newport). Must spend at least two days per week (40%) at one of the office sites.

What you will do

  • Serve as a trusted Finance Partner to the Retail business, offering commercial insight and constructive challenge.
  • Translate complex cost data and management information into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Provide high-quality decision support and robust forecasting across quarterly, monthly, and longer-term planning cycles.
  • Support investment decisions, ensure benefits are clearly defined, and maintain alignment between objectives and outcomes.
  • Collaborate across teams to promote efficiency and help the division deliver its objectives effectively.

Requirements

  • Over 8 years of experience in Finance Business Partnering or an equivalent role.
  • Proven expertise in cost management, preparing business cases for decisions, and financial reporting.
  • Strong commercial and analytical capability to understand the financial and economic impact of decisions.
  • Proficiency in using Excel and Power BI to turn data into clear insights.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills to simplify complex information.
