What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end architecture and development of occupant protection systems to meet global safety standards.
• Define high-level safety requirements and decompose them into actionable engineering metrics and module-level targets.
• Manage complex trade-offs between safety and other vehicle attributes through cross-functional collaboration.
• Oversee virtual and physical test programs (DVP) and manage instrumentation strategies and technical issue resolution via Jira.
• Partner with CAE teams to ensure simulation-to-test correlation and provide technical direction based on data analysis.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience within automotive development and testing, preferably in safety testing.
• Detailed knowledge of FMVSS, ECE, UN, and other legal and consumer test safety protocols.
• Experience in complete vehicle safety structure and systems development and testing.
• Proficiency with LS-Dyna, Hyperworks, Python, Matlab, and/or NI Diadem.
• Experience with 3D design and PLM tools, specifically CATIA 3DX or CATIA V5.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of DFMEA.
• Experience with requirements management tools such as Polarion or equivalent.
• Ability to build and script templates for data integrity checks, results analysis, and reporting.
