What you will do
- Develop assays for DNA using genome-wide and targeted NGS approaches based on molecular biology and nucleic-acid biochemistry.
- Plan and execute mission-critical experiments to optimize and characterize assay performance.
- Analyze high-quality data and present results cross-functionally to R&D and clinical operations teams.
- Perform technical troubleshooting and implement process improvements across the laboratory.
- Collaborate with engineers to transition development protocols into clinical production, including automation and SOP development.
- Write study protocols and reports following current Good Laboratory and Documentation Practices (cGLP, cGDP).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of professional experience in the life sciences.
- Hands-on experience in NGS-based assay development, including extraction, library preparation, and target capture.
- Experience executing verification and validation studies for IVD assays in a regulated GLP laboratory environment.
- Must be based in or able to work onsite in Brisbane, California.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to record accurate, detailed observations.
Nice to have
- Experience working with methylated ctDNA/cfDNA in liquid biopsy workflows.
- Experience with automated liquid handlers and laboratory information systems.
- Familiarity with scientific programming languages such as Python or R.
