Salary: $172,500 - $313,700 annually

What you will do

• Design and develop scalable, resilient offline indexing pipelines that process and transform data for search infrastructure.
• Deploy, configure, and optimize Solr clusters to ensure high availability and search performance.
• Partner with product engineering to conceptualize and ship new features for a rapidly growing user base.
• Build production-grade software using an AI-first approach, integrating AI agents into human workflows.
• Take long-term ownership of system health and contribute to high-level technical architecture discussions.
• Conduct collaborative code reviews and champion improvements to engineering standards and tooling.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on experience with distributed data and search technologies.
• Expertise with distributed data processing frameworks such as Spark, Hadoop, MapReduce, or EMR.
• Experience with Solr, Elasticsearch, Lucene, or comparable search technologies.
• Proficiency in languages such as Java, Go, PHP, Python, Ruby, or C.
• Familiarity with infrastructure tools including Terraform, Chef, and Kubernetes.
• Demonstrated AI-first approach, including experience with tools like Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor, and advanced prompt engineering.

Nice to have

• Experience building large-scale data pipelines using Java, Scala, and SQL.
• Knowledge of text mining, parsing, and NLP techniques applied to search relevance.
• Experience in search relevance tuning, ranking models, or query understanding.
