What you will do

• Lead the scoping, design, and delivery of complex data science products and analytical models.
• Establish organizational standards for modelling, validation, reproducibility, and responsible AI practices.
• Identify and implement machine learning, predictive analytics, and optimization solutions for business challenges.
• Guide and mentor data scientists, analysts, and engineers in selecting appropriate architectures and tools.
• Communicate technical options, risks, and evidence-based recommendations to key stakeholders.

Requirements

• Extensive experience designing and delivering advanced data science solutions at scale.
• Deep expertise in applied statistics, machine learning, and model validation.
• Strong programming capabilities and experience setting coding and testing standards.
• Proven track record of collaborating with data engineering, cloud, and software architecture teams.
• Strong understanding of data ethics, privacy, bias, and governance.
• Must be based in the West Midlands and work on-site.

Nice to have

• Experience with MLOps, AI platforms, NLP, LLMs, or knowledge graphs.
• Experience setting data science strategy or leading cross-functional technical communities.
• Background in consulting or working within public-sector and highly regulated environments.
