Tech Lead (Science Foundation Squad) (AWS/Python)

What you will do

• Architect and oversee the deployment of web applications and backend components within existing frameworks.
• Implement and promote best practices in DevOps, CI/CD, security, and software quality.
• Design and manage AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, specifically AWS CDK.
• Own and continuously improve platforms for application development to enhance developer experience.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve performance bottlenecks across web and backend systems.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects, data engineers, and researchers to ensure secure and scalable solutions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, software development, or technical leadership.
• Proven experience deploying and managing web applications on AWS.
• Strong knowledge of Python-based backend systems (e.g., Dash Enterprise) and scientific data processing.
• Familiarity with relational databases and handling large-scale data.
• Must be based in or able to work at the Delft Biotech Campus, Netherlands.

Nice to have

• Experience with Arcitecta Mediaflux for data management.
• Experience working in an R&D or scientific computing environment.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
