Research Data Scientist

TL;DR

Research Data Scientist (Statistics/ML): Trains, tests, and evaluates analytic and machine learning solutions that support business decisions with an accent on full ML lifecycle, statistical inference, and time series forecasting. Focus on designing reproducible models, experimental pipelines, and translating insights into production features.

Location: Hybrid (at least 3 days/week in Charlotte, NC or Allen, TX office). This position is ineligible for immigration sponsorship. All positions may require onsite interview or in-person onboarding.

Salary: $80,350–$100,000 (based on location and experience).

What you will do

• Apply statistics, ML, and programming to identify patterns and drive data-informed decisions.
• Collaborate with engineers to integrate data science models into products and features.
• Communicate findings in plain language to business and IT teams.
• Explore data from multiple sources to uncover insights addressing business problems.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years professional data science experience or recent Master's/PhD in Data Science, Statistics, CS, or related.
• Python for modeling/scripting/tooling and SQL for complex queries (joins, aggregations, window functions).
• Statistics/inference: hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, regression, experimental design.
• ML: end-to-end pipelines, cross-validation, tuning, evaluation, explainability (SHAP, LIME).

Nice to have

• Deep learning with PyTorch/Keras/TensorFlow.
• Time series/forecasting expertise.
• MLOps: experiment tracking, model registries, deployment/monitoring.
• NLP, RL, tabular DL, AI agents/LLMs, cloud/large-scale data.
