Principal Software Engineer (Automotive)

TL;DR

Principal Software Engineer (Automotive/Embedded): Designing, developing, and testing software for complex automotive embedded devices with an accent on AUTOSAR architecture, BSW configuration, and real-time operating systems. Focus on mentoring junior engineers, optimizing non-volatile memory and diagnostics, and ensuring ASPICE compliance across the software development life cycle.

What you will do

• Develop production-ready software for telematics products following a defined automotive development process.
• Configure BSW modules using Vector tools (DaVinci Developer, DaVinci Configurator) and develop CDD drivers for AUTOSAR applications.
• Analyze specifications to develop unit designs, test plans, and verify overall system functionality.
• Debug analog and digital hardware using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Act as a mentor and coach for less experienced engineers and interns.
• Perform technical analysis and assessment of customer requirements (RFP, RFC, RFQ) and provide domain expertise.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in microcontroller embedded software development or testing.
• 5+ years of proficiency in C or other structured languages.
• 5+ years of experience with AUTOSAR (BSW configuration, SW-C configuration, and integration).
• 5+ years of automotive embedded systems development and testing.
• Must be based in Bucharest, Romania for a hybrid work arrangement.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with non-volatile memory drivers and automotive diagnostics.
• Experience with TC3xx microcontrollers.
• Experience with AUTOSAR OS (OSEK) or other embedded RTOS.
• Experience with vehicle networking (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
