Senior Accountant (Federal Accounting)

What you will do

• Prepare and review financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Manage general ledger, subsidiary ledger, and budgetary/proprietary account reconciliations.
• Prepare adjusting journal entries, including corrections to accounts payable and receivable transactions.
• Ensure compliance with OMB Circular A-136 financial reporting requirements.
• Support financial data calls to internal and external stakeholders such as DFAS, OSD, and OMB.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in accounting.
• At least 3 years of experience in federal or DoW government accounting.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business with a minimum of 24 semester hours in Accounting.
• Expertise in preparing financial statements in accordance with GAAP and FASAB standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.

Nice to have

• CPA licensure or CDFM/CGFM certification.
• Experience with the GFEBS financial accounting system.
• Experience calculating PP&E depreciation and maintaining asset records.
• Experience with G-Invoicing, IPAC, and indirect cost models.
• Experience supporting financial audit sample preparation and documentation.
