What you will do

• Perform account reconciliations across budgetary and proprietary accounts.
• Prepare and process journal entries in federal financial accounting systems.
• Support financial statement preparation and compile necessary supporting documentation.
• Gather and package documentation for audit samples and data calls.
• Maintain compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and federal accounting standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• 3+ years of experience in accounting.
• At least 1 year of experience in federal or DoW government accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.
• Must be based in Rockville, MD.

Nice to have

• Experience with GFEBS or other DoW enterprise financial systems.
• Experience supporting PBC package preparation for external auditors.
• Progress toward CPA, CDFM, or CGFM certification.
• Experience with automated reconciliation tools or data analytics (e.g., Google Colab, Apps Script).
