What you will do

• Perform GL reconciliations for balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
• Manage accruals, deferrals, and prepaid expense entries.
• Maintain financial records in accounting software and ensure data integrity.
• Analyze financial data using Excel templates to identify variances and discrepancies.
• Follow documented procedures and SOPs to complete accounting tasks.
• Review financial information and flag inconsistencies proactively.

Requirements

• Full-time availability during Eastern Time business hours (9 AM - 5 PM ET, Mon-Fri)
• Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles (accruals, deferrals, prepaids).
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, pivot tables).
• Strong grasp of US GAAP accounting standards.
• Meticulous attention to detail, critical thinking, and ability to work independently following instructions and video tutorials.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting findings and asking questions.

Nice to have

• Experience with Sage Intacct accounting software.
• Background in healthcare accounting, especially skilled nursing or long-term care.
• Familiarity with healthcare billing systems like NCS.
• Understanding of healthcare metrics (census, PPD, payer variance).
