Senior Platform Engineer (DevEx) (Cloud/K8s): Designing and evolving the Internal Developer Platform to improve delivery speed and operational reliability with an accent on CI/CD pipelines, self-service capabilities, and golden paths. Focus on reducing cognitive load for engineering teams, optimizing system throughput, and implementing secure, production-ready platform defaults.

Location: Must be based in Germany. Hybrid model with remote flexibility and regular mandatory team anchor days in Cologne.

What you will do

• Design and maintain core Internal Developer Platform components, including CI/CD, service templates, and observability integrations.
• Develop opinionated golden paths that balance standardization with long-term maintainability and flexibility.
• Ensure all platform defaults are secure, compliant, cost-aware, and production-ready.
• Reduce lead time and onboarding effort by optimizing developer workflows guided by DevEx and flow metrics.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, SREs, and Security teams to align platform capabilities with organizational reliability needs.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Software or Platform Engineer focusing on internal platforms or developer tooling.
• Strong hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, container platforms, and trunk-based development.
• Production experience in at least one general-purpose language such as Go, Python, or TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of modern security principles, including IAM and secrets management.
• Must be located in Germany to attend regular team anchor days.
