AI Engineering Lead

TL;DR

AI Engineering Lead (RAG/LLM): Scaling existing RAG systems for billions of data points, millions of creators, and multi-tenant use cases with an accent on retrieval optimization, vector databases, and embeddings management. Focus on building agentic workflows, real-time data synthesis, MCP integrations, and driving quality, reliability, and cost optimization through technical leadership.

Location: Fully remote from anywhere, must overlap 4 core hours within European time (9am-6pm). Occasional optional nomad offices in European locations.

What you will do

• Scale RAG systems: optimize retrieval for billions of data points, millions of creators, and complex multi-tenant scenarios.
• Build new AI capabilities: agentic workflows, client-specific knowledge bases, real-time data synthesis, MCP integrations.
• Set technical standards for AI engineering: ensure quality, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Evaluate initiatives based on customer value, cost, and strategic impact.
• Partner with Product and AI squad to unblock issues, elevate thinking, and influence strategy.

Requirements

• Proven experience shipping LLM-powered features in production
• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Expertise scaling RAG: vector databases, retrieval optimization, millions of embeddings, multi-tenant knowledge management
• Experience with microservices and scaling APIs
• Strong background in agentic workflows, tool use, MCP, multi-turn reasoning
• Proficiency in Python
• Experience with big data systems (terabytes, millions of entities)
• Experience mentoring engineers and raising team technical bar
