Principal Infrastructure Engineer (Manufacturing)

Principal Infrastructure Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes): Defining the technical direction for the infrastructure platform powering autonomous factories with an accent on cloud, edge, and factory-floor system architecture. Salary: $250,000 - $320,000

What you will do

• Design and implement cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform and OpenTofu.
• Build and manage Kubernetes clusters across cloud (EKS) and edge (K0s/K3s) environments.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows with GitHub Actions and ArgoCD.
• Architect networking between factory sites, edge devices, and the cloud.
• Implement monitoring and observability using Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog.
• Drive technical strategy, build-vs-buy decisions, and establish organization-wide engineering standards.

Requirements

• 10-15+ years of experience in infrastructure or platform engineering.
• Expert-level infrastructure design across cloud, containers, and networking.
• Deep proficiency in Terraform/IaC and production Kubernetes (scaling, troubleshooting, multi-cluster).
• Strong security instincts, including threat modeling and compliance fundamentals.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual per ITAR regulations.

Nice to have

• Experience defining infrastructure strategy and technical direction for a large engineering org.
• Track record of driving platform adoption across multiple teams.
• Experience with multi-site deployments and hybrid cloud/edge environments.
• History of mentoring senior engineers into technical leaders.
