Salary: $142,800 – $223,400 per year

The Center for Quantum Computing (CQC) is a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers dedicated to developing a fault-tolerant quantum computer.
What you will do
- Develop theoretical and numerical models of superconducting qubit processors to translate insights into device improvements.
- Collaborate across theory, measurement, design, and calibration teams to validate predictions.
- Conduct pathfinding research on novel qubit designs, gate schemes, and processor architectures.
- Communicate scientific findings internally and share results via external conference presentations and journals.
- Stay updated on the latest research developments in the field of quantum computation.
Requirements
- PhD in physics, applied physics, electrical engineering, or an equivalent degree.
- Proven track record of original, impactful research in quantum physics (computing, communication, sensing, etc.).
- Experience with publications in top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
- Proficiency in scientific programming environments.
- Demonstrated experience delivering projects as part of cross-team collaborations.
- U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or ability to obtain a US export license is required.
Nice to have
- Expertise in superconducting circuits, cavity/circuit QED, quantum optics, or open quantum systems.
- Familiarity with quantum error correction and fault-tolerant logic.
- Experience with numerical modeling of multi-qubit quantum processors or many-body systems.
- Experience working directly with experimental data.
- Expertise in numerical methods and high-performance computing.
