TL;DR

Satellite Operator: Executing satellite operations procedures, monitoring on-orbit fleet health and safety, troubleshooting anomalies with an accent on telemetry data analysis and system performance assessment. Focus on resolving malfunctions, performing orbit corrections and station-keeping maneuvers, and supporting new satellite commissioning.

Location: San Jose, CA (onsite). 24/7 on-call rotation (one week per month). ITAR: Must be U.S. person (citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).

What you will do

• Execute satellite operations procedures and monitor health and safety of the on-orbit fleet.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to execute operation plans and maintain service continuity.
• Analyze telemetry data and health reports to identify issues, monitor alerts, and implement preventive measures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve anomalies and malfunctions using procedures and technical expertise.
• Perform satellite maneuvers including orbit corrections and station-keeping.
• Support commissioning of new satellites from launch to operational phase.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to make critical decisions under pressure and work independently or in a team.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation (approx. one week per month).
• U.S. person status per ITAR/EAR requirements.

Nice to have

• Operations experience with spacecraft, ground stations, or complex communication systems.
• Understanding of satellite subsystems (power, propulsion, communication, payload).
• Familiarity with satellite operations standards and best practices.
• Experience with Python, Julia, or high-level scripting languages.
