What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance Java services (Spring Boot WebFlux/MVC) for real-time trading operations.
• Own the full lifecycle from architecture to production, including CI/CD pipelines and deployment to Kubernetes (AWS EKS).
• Partner with Product, Design, and Frontend teams to deliver business-critical features.
• Implement observability using Grafana, Honeycomb, and OpenTelemetry to ensure system health.
• Champion technical excellence in performance, scalability, and security within a fintech environment.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and improve code quality.

Requirements

• Solid backend engineering experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST/gRPC, and reactive patterns.
• Battle-tested experience running production workloads on Kubernetes (AWS EKS).
• Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and caching layers (Redis).
• Experience with Terraform, GitLab CI, and microservice architectures.
• Strong English-language communication skills for working in globally distributed teams.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid (3 days onsite) in London.
