Technical Product Manager (Data Platform)

Technical Product Manager (Data Platform): Own the data platform as an internal product to enable data engineers, analysts, and scientists to deliver trusted data faster, safer, and more cost-effectively with an accent on platform vision, roadmap, and user adoption. Focus on mapping end-to-end user journeys, driving product discovery, defining success metrics, and collaborating on technical trade-offs in Databricks, AWS, and Python stack.

Location: Milan, Italy (full remote available, work from home/office/mix, work from anywhere up to 30 days a year)

What you will do

• Own product strategy for Data Platform including vision, roadmap, and prioritization aligned with business and engineering goals
• Partner with Head of Data Platform and engineering for fast, scalable delivery
• Map internal user journeys from discoverability to scaling, identify friction points and improvements
• Drive discovery and execution with stakeholders across engineering, security, governance, and analytics
• Define and monitor metrics like adoption, reliability, productivity, cost efficiency, and data quality
• Collaborate on technical trade-offs, solution design, and champion product mindset for usability and self-service
• Improve adoption via documentation, feedback, onboarding, and training

Requirements

• 5+ years in Product Management with exposure to internal platforms, developer tools, infrastructure, or data platforms
• Track record driving user adoption and outcomes in technical environments
• Strong understanding of modern data architectures, workflows, and ecosystems
• Experience with cloud-native data stacks like AWS and Databricks
• Ability to translate technical topics like pipelines, monitoring, data quality into product requirements
• Analytical mindset for KPIs and improvement
• Cross-functional experience influencing without authority
• Excellent communication for technical and non-technical audiences
• Familiarity with AWS services, security, observability, Databricks, Python workflows

Nice to have

• Hands-on as Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, or Software Engineer
• Platform engineering concepts like golden paths, IDP, DevEx metrics
• Data governance, observability, data quality frameworks
• Medallion architectures, Delta Lake, enterprise data products
• Experience building enablement programs for technical users
