Technical Writer

TL;DR

Location: Hybrid role requiring regular in-office presence; candidates must be within driving distance of Halifax office, Canada

What you will do

• Write and edit technical materials including user guides, onboarding guides, and product specifications based on user stories and platform usage.
• Collaborate with UX designers to create interface content that supports user goals and engagement.
• Revise content based on stakeholder feedback and maintain writing standards.
• Use AI tools to streamline content creation and improve quality.
• Create and edit images, as well as training and onboarding videos.
• Collaborate with platform teams to align documentation standards across pillars.

Requirements

• 5+ years in technical communication, preferably software; 2+ years UX writing
• Excellent writing, editing, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail
• Familiarity with graphic tools (Photoshop, InDesign, Markdown), video tools
• Strong technical knowledge of software development and Agile environments
• Ability to attend in-office activities and work within driving distance of Halifax
• Experience using AI for content workflows

Nice to have

• Familiarity with CMS, HTML, XML, React
• Skills in modular content, metadata systems, content governance
• Experience with user education, visuals, Figma
