What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable APIs within a distributed microservice ecosystem.
• Develop and optimize core infrastructure for underwriting and policy management systems.
• Plan and deliver features with growing autonomy, collaborating on larger strategic initiatives.
• Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and cross-team knowledge sharing.
• Implement best practices in testing, observability, and system design.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in TypeScript.
• Working knowledge of distributed systems and API-first design.
• Hands-on experience with Postgres or other relational databases, including schema design.
• Familiarity with Docker and containerized development environments.
• Must be based in the USA.

Nice to have

• Experience with NestJS or comparable JavaScript backend frameworks.
• Experience with Terraform, Kafka, Temporal, and API Gateways.
• Exposure to monitoring tools like Datadog or New Relic.
