Senior Backend Engineer

What you will do

• Design and maintain scalable microservices using NestJS and TypeScript for high performance across front-end and IoT devices.
• Develop backend logic in hybrid AWS environments with EKS containerized services and Lambda serverless functions.
• Collaborate with DevOps on Terraform-managed resources like S3, SQS, SNS, IAM, and Secrets Manager.
• Manage data schemas, persistence, and optimization using MongoDB Atlas (Mongoose) and PostgreSQL RDS.
• Implement event-driven communication with SQS, SNS, MQTT, and AWS IoT Core for device messaging and telemetry.
• Integrate observability with OpenTelemetry, secure auth with Passport.js/JWT, and maintain testing with Jest/Playwright.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of back-end software engineering experience
• Proven track record building/deploying high-traffic AWS applications
• Expertise in TypeScript, modern JavaScript (ES2022+), Node.js, and NestJS
• Experience with Agile (2-week sprints), Jira, GitHub, CI/CD (GitHub Actions)
• Deep AWS knowledge: Lambda/EC2/EKS, S3/CloudFront, VPC/API Gateway, MongoDB/PostgreSQL/Redis
• Familiarity with Terraform, Docker, asynchronous messaging (SQS), event-driven architectures

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS Elemental MediaConvert for video processing
• NGINX Gateway Fabric or Kubernetes Gateway API
• Digital signage: device communication, content distribution, real-time scheduling, integrations, proof-of-play
