TL;DR

Backend Engineer (Golang/TypeScript): Building and scaling core email sending infrastructure to handle millions of daily requests with an accent on high availability, database performance, and distributed systems. Location: Fully remote, must be able to consistently work in the Americas timezone (UTC-5 to UTC0)

Compensation: $120,000 - $140,000 USD

What you will do

• Define architecture to support millions of daily API requests and scale infrastructure for sending tens of millions of emails per day.
• Optimize Postgres and Clickhouse databases to ensure high performance and reliability.
• Design and operate async pipelines involving queues, streams, idempotency, and retries.
• Build and maintain infrastructure using IaC frameworks like CDK and Terraform.
• Enhance system observability using monitoring tools like Datadog.
• Participate in on-call rotations for critical services.

Requirements

• 8+ years of back-end engineering experience with a focus on cloud infrastructure.
• Fluency in writing and speaking English.
• Ability to consistently work in the Americas timezone.
• Proven experience supporting large workloads on AWS.
• Experience with event-driven systems at scale (e.g., Kafka, SQS, SNS).

Nice to have

• Proficiency in TypeScript and Golang.
• Experience working on applications with extremely high workloads.
• Knowledge of email delivery best practices.
