What you will do

• Evaluate and analyze health insurance applications to determine risk and set fair, competitive premium rates.
• Interpret underlying claims experience to inform underwriting decisions and policy adjustments.
• Collaborate with sales teams to develop competitive insurance products and strategies.
• Assist in developing or modifying insurance policies to balance market needs with company risk.
• Maintain accurate records of underwritten policies, tracking concessions and experience.
• Coordinate with brokers and agents to gather information and explain underwriting decisions.

Requirements

• Professional actuarial credentials (e.g., ASA, FSA) are required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial health insurance underwriting (excluding Medicare, Medicaid, or ACA plans).
• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis, risk assessment, and interpreting complex data.
• Must reside in the United States in the CST or EST time zones.
• Ability to maintain a secure, dedicated work area for handling sensitive documents.
