Technical Writer

Location: Toronto, Canada; flexible hybrid work model. Eligibility to work for hirify.global in Canada in a full-time capacity is required.

Salary: CAD 80,000–90,000 per year, plus eligibility for a short-term incentive plan.

What you will do

• Create, develop, and maintain procedures, policies, processes, standards, build books, and playbooks.
• Partner with technical subject matter experts, cross-functional teams, and Agile squads to produce accurate, user-centered documentation.
• Analyze processes and document workflows, repositories, references, and knowledge bases.
• Improve documentation practices and support continuous improvement within the team.
• Maintain technical terminology libraries and publish best practices and resources for employee self-service.
• Support documentation aligned with industry standards and compliance requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional technical writing, editorial, or copywriting experience.
• Degree in information technology, computer science, technical communication, communications, journalism, English, or a related discipline.
• Experience engaging with technical subject matter experts and managing the end-to-end documentation process.
• General knowledge of coding, software design, servers, databases, networks, cloud, certificates, and middleware.
• Familiarity with ITSM practices and processes, including DevOps, DevSecOps, and ITIL.
• Ability to work for hirify.global in Canada in a full-time capacity and to work in a PCI- and ISO27001-governed environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Confluence, Lucidchart, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, or ServiceNow Knowledge Base.
• Knowledge management experience and advanced use of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and related templates.
