Systems Engineer (AWS)

TL;DR

Systems Engineer (AWS/PLM): Standing up and maintaining AWS infrastructure supporting PLM software implementations with an accent on security, functionality, performance, and scalability. Focus on automating workloads with Ansible playbooks, administering RDS databases, and applying patches/upgrades for DoD customer environments.

Location: Hybrid preferred in St. Paul, MN (US); fully remote (US) candidates may be considered with increased travel expectations (up to 10%, 1-2 times per month). Must be US citizen with ability to obtain/maintain US national security clearance.

Salary: 112,017 - 141,190 USD per year

What you will do

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business and security requirements into AWS infrastructure solutions focused on performance, scalability, and cost savings.
• Implement and refine cloud infrastructure including EC2, S3, RDS, load balancers, backups, and containerization.
• Automate deployments with Ansible playbooks, manage PKI, TLS/SSL certificates, and secure authentication.
• Administer RDS Oracle and PostgreSQL databases: seeding, schema setup, scripting, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Install/upgrade PLM software, apply patches, fix vulnerabilities, support rehosts/data refreshes, and conduct testing.
• Debug complex defects, maintain documentation, and stay certified in PLM, cloud, and security technologies.

Requirements

• Security+ certification and relevant AWS certifications.
• Bachelor’s in IT/CS/engineering or equivalent; minimum 2 years AWS experience hosting enterprise apps.
• Experience with Ansible, AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Fleet Manager, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch), RedHat Linux 8+, Windows Server, databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
• Skills in virtualization, Active Directory, AppStream, networking diagnosis, AWS support collaboration.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, documentation; ability to work independently/team.
• Excitement for learning PLM applications; active US security clearance or eligible.

Nice to have

• Experience coding in Java, Python, C++, C#.
• Agile certifications; aerospace/defense knowledge, DoD policies, RMF compliance.
• Administration of PLM apps like PTC Windchill, Siemens Teamcenter.
