Senior Systems Engineer (AWS): Standing up and maintaining AWS infrastructure for PLM software implementations supporting DoD customers with an accent on security, functionality, performance, and scalability. Focus on automating workloads with Ansible playbooks, administering RDS databases, applying patches, and optimizing containerized solutions.

Location: Hybrid in St. Paul, MN preferred (United States); fully remote candidates considered with increased travel expectations (up to 10%, 1-2 times per month). Must be US Citizen eligible for national security clearance.

Salary: 130,990 - 165,673 USD per year

What you will do

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business and security requirements into AWS infrastructure solutions focused on performance, scalability, and cost savings.
• Implement and refine cloud infrastructure including load balancers, backups, and transitions to containerized setups.
• Automate workloads using Ansible playbooks, manage PKI, TLS/SSL certificates, and secure authentication.
• Administer RDS Oracle and PostgreSQL databases: seeding data, schema configs, scripting, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Install PLM software, apply updates/patches, fix vulnerabilities, handle rehosts/data refreshes, and conduct testing.
• Debug complex defects, maintain documentation, and stay certified in PLM, cloud, and security technologies.

Requirements

• US Citizen able to obtain and maintain US national security clearance.
• Security+ certification and relevant AWS certifications.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, software/engineering discipline.
• 5+ years AWS experience hosting enterprise apps on RedHat Linux 8+ and Windows Server (CLI configs).
• Experience with Ansible, AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Fleet Manager, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch), Active Directory, AppStream, databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server), networking, virtualization.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, documentation skills; ability to work independently and in teams; interest in PLM applications.

Nice to have

• Experience coding in Java, Python, C++, C#.
• Agile certifications and aerospace/defense industry knowledge.
• DoD policies, cybersecurity, RMF compliance.
• Administration of PLM apps like PTC Windchill, Siemens Teamcenter, etc.
