Principal Safety & Reliability Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Act as the technical arbiter within the Safety Design Group.
• Develop Safety and Reliability plans and perform detailed analysis without supervision.
• Influence system design to ensure safety and reliability requirements are appropriately decomposed.
• Collaborate with customers to define and challenge safety and reliability approaches.
• Perform impact analysis on design decisions and present findings at Design Reviews.
• Support bids and proposals as required by the functional lead.

Requirements

• Extensive in-depth experience in safety and reliability within the aerospace sector.
• Proficiency in aerospace safety design and assessment tools such as FMEA and FTA.
• Knowledge of safety and certification requirements including SAE ARP4761, ARP4754, DO160, DO178, and DO254.
• Experience with MIL HDBK 217 reliability calculations and alternatives.
• Ability to work in the UK without restrictions in accordance with UK National Law.
• Preparedness to successfully undergo UK National Security Vetting.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with aerospace materials and components.
• Knowledge of PCB design and EMC techniques.
• Experience with general system design practice.
