Information Technology Technician (DoD)

TL;DR

Information Technology Technician (Microsoft/DoD): Provide Tier 2–3 technical support for end-users, servers, networks, and enterprise applications with an accent on DoD STIG compliance and Microsoft infrastructure management. Focus on implementing security configurations, troubleshooting complex issues, and supporting system hardening and vulnerability remediation.

Location: On-site in Hollywood, MD. Ability to obtain Secret Clearance required.

Salary: $75,000–$95,000

What you will do

• Provide Tier 2–3 technical support for end-users, servers, networks, and enterprise applications.
• Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows Server and Windows environments.
• Implement, validate, and maintain DoD STIG compliance across systems, applications, and network devices.
• Configure and manage Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, DHCP, and related Microsoft services.
• Deploy patches, updates, security configurations, and support infrastructure upgrades.
• Diagnose escalated issues, maintain documentation, and collaborate with cybersecurity teams.

Requirements

• Clearance: Ability to obtain Secret Clearance
• 3–7 years of experience in IT support or systems administration (Tier 2–3 level)
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft ecosystems: Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, GPO management, Microsoft 365
• Demonstrated experience applying and maintaining STIG compliance
• Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, network layers
• Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., ACAS, Nessus) and excellent communication skills

Nice to have

• DoD 8570/8140 certifications (e.g., Security+, CySA+, CCNA Security)
• MCSA, MCSE, or Microsoft role-based certifications
• Experience with virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware) and PowerShell scripting
• Knowledge of log analysis or SIEM platforms
