TL;DR

Facility Manager (Waste-to-Energy): Provide leadership for operations and maintenance of waste-to-energy facilities, including boilers, turbine generators, and auxiliary systems, with an accent on safety, environmental compliance, budgeting, and reliability. Focus on executing outages and projects safely on schedule and budget, driving continuous improvement, and maximizing P&L contributions through data-driven decisions and lean practices.

Location: USA, NJ, Rahway (onsite). Relocation Assistance Provided to Qualified Candidates.

Salary: $157,000 - $224,400 USD

What you will do

  • Lead facility Safety, Health, and Environmental excellence, ensuring compliance and proactive KPI monitoring.
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and Long-Term Maintenance Plans to maximize P&L, EBITDA, and FCF.
  • Oversee outage execution, maintenance activities, and operational reliability to meet production targets.
  • Drive Lean mindset for continuous improvement in revenue per ton, cost reduction, and production efficiency.
  • Collaborate with experts and serve as primary client interface for operational issues.
  • Build community outreach and ensure employee training for emergencies.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years at waste-to-energy/thermomechanical treatment or utility power facility, with 5+ years leading operations/maintenance teams; prior Plant/Facility Manager experience highly desired.
  • 5+ years planning/executing outages and projects (capital/maintenance) delivering on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical, or business (Master’s preferred); Plant Manager experience may substitute.
  • Proven high-performing safety culture, budgeting execution, customer focus, and Lean mindset.
  • Experience with regulators, legislators, and community organizations.

Nice to have

  • ASME CFO Certification (must obtain if not held).
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher (must obtain if not held).
  • PMP Certification.
