Member of the Technical Team - Data Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Lead the development of modern, observable data pipelines for multimodal scientific data using Prefect and Temporal.
• Develop and manage data models across the stack to support business, operational, and scientific requirements.
• Establish robust data contracts and versioning strategies for high-volume data streams from labs.
• Implement automated Quality Control (QC) processes to ensure integrity and correctness of multimodal uploads.
• Architect storage solutions focusing on data anonymization, PII handling, and security compliance.
• Develop internal and customer-facing tools to make complex systems usable for scientists and operators.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in or able to work on-site in Cambridge, MA
• Deep experience with pipeline orchestration tools like Prefect or Temporal.
• Fluency in Python and expertise in infrastructure-as-code tooling.
• Proven track record of implementing data version control and data contracts.
• Hands-on expertise with cloud services such as AWS S3 and ECS for high-volume data ingestion.
• Ability to build data-intensive systems handling multimodal outputs like live video and sensor metadata.
