Freelance Learning Project Manager

Freelance Learning Project Manager (L&D): Lead delivery of custom learning solutions blending instructional design knowledge with project management to ensure high-quality, innovative results on time and within budget with an accent on Agile/Waterfall planning, client collaboration, and financial oversight. Focus on developing end-to-end project plans, mitigating risks in ambiguous environments, and identifying growth opportunities through change orders.

What you will do

• Collaborate with Sales to align client needs with PM best practices and develop end-to-end project plans including WBS, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
• Serve as primary client contact, facilitate collaborative sessions, and foster empathetic relationships to understand business strategy.
• Own project financial health by tracking expenses, utilization, and margins; identify growth via change orders and innovative tools.
• Anticipate roadblocks, pivot in complex environments, and connect project goals to client's broader business landscape.

Requirements

• Location: Must be in Costa Rica (Remote)
• Bachelor's degree; 5–7 years PM experience specifically in Learning & Development industry.
• Deep knowledge of ID principles, adult learning theories, eLearning standards (SCORM, xAPI, WCAG).
• Proficient in Jira/Asana and authoring tools/virtual training platforms; strong financial tracking and negotiation skills.
• Decisive leadership, conflict resolution, stakeholder influence; tech savvy with strong internet and virtual tools.
• English as primary language; available during established working hours

Nice to have

• Master's in ID or Business; PMP certification.
• Experience with globally distributed teams.
