Cloud Operations Engineer

TL;DR

Cloud Operations Engineer (Azure/Public Safety): Deploying, maintaining and supporting state-of-the-art cloud solutions for digital evidence management with an accent on 2nd/3rd line engineering support for law enforcement customers. Focus on provisioning, patching, health monitoring, issue replication, and collaboration with development teams.

Location: Office-based 5 days a week in Southampton, UK. Must be within commuting distance to Southampton office and eligible to obtain SC clearance (resident in the UK for 5 years).

What you will do

• Provide 2nd/3rd line engineering support to cloud-hosted products.
• Provision, deploy, patch and upgrade enterprise software on Azure, collaborating with development teams.
• Define and implement maintenance and health monitoring procedures.
• Work with internal teams, customers, partners and service providers, escalating as needed.
• Deploy systems for issue replication and diagnosis without impacting customer operations.
• Participate in 24/7 out-of-hours call-out rota, supporting UK and international customers.

Requirements

• UK resident for 5 years, eligible for SC clearance.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Working knowledge of Windows server and client technology, supporting web applications and services.
• Experience with web applications and configuration management.
• Methodical troubleshooting, multi-tasking, time-management and attention to detail.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and customer service skills; able to work independently and in a team.

• Knowledge of Azure Portal and services.
• Experience with scripting.
• Basic SQL querying or report creation (Power BI).
• Knowledge of Elastic Search and Kibana.
• Experience configuring application monitoring and dashboards.
• Experience in an ITIL environment.
