What you will do

• Own data quality for specific regions and product groups, including ferrous/non-ferrous metals, solid fuels, and industrial minerals.
• Improve data pipelines by contributing to SQL queries, Python scripts, and pipeline tooling to increase accuracy.
• Monitor global trade flows, news, and industry developments to extract meaningful market patterns.
• Lead responses to ad-hoc client requests and partner with Sales and Customer Success teams.
• Propose scalable improvements to data architecture and internal systems.
• Mentor and oversee 1–2 junior analysts.

Requirements

• Experience working with large, disparate datasets in shipping, commodity trading, or supply chain analytics.
• Proficiency in querying relational databases (PostgreSQL, MSSQL) and using Python for workflow automation.
• Hands-on experience using REST APIs to ingest and process data feeds.
• High level of competency in MS Excel for complex commercial modeling.
• Ability to mentor others and take technical ownership of projects.
• Must be based in the United Kingdom for hybrid work.

Nice to have

• Experience with seaborne commodity data, such as AIS tracking or port logs.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau.
