TL;DR

Principal Game Economist (Gamedev): Lead economic strategy and systems design across multiple studios supporting various games with an accent on diagnosing economic health, pricing/reward systems, and predictive modeling. Focus on cross-studio collaboration, mentoring embedded teams, and balancing player experience with sustainable monetization.

Hybrid: 2 days per week in London office, UK. Relocation assistance for those moving to the UK.

Studio behind popular titles like 1010!, Six!, Merge Dragons!, and Merge Magic!, part of Zynga & Take-Two Interactive family, working in small self-managing teams with high autonomy.

What you will do

  • Drive cross-studio economic strategy, owning design phase for targeted projects to boost engagement and performance.
  • Collaborate with Lead Economist and Director of Economy on portfolio-wide strategies and complex challenges.
  • Mentor game-level economy designers and PMs through influence, training on advanced frameworks for independent management.
  • Build predictive models, run simulations, and design A/B tests to validate economic decisions.
  • Bridge cross-functional efforts with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Engineers across teams and geographies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Economics, Math, Statistics, or related quantitative field with proven track record in designing/optimizing complex game economies at senior/lead level.
  • Mastery of Excel; experience with SQL, R, or Python advantageous.
  • Demonstrated matrix leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and upskilling talent without direct reports.
  • Deep interest in Free-to-Play mechanics and balancing player experience with monetization.

Nice to have

  • Background in Monetization strategy.
  • Experience on large-scale online, social, or multiplayer games.
