TL;DR

Junior Game Designer (Gamedev): Designing and implementing engaging content for RuneScape from initial concept through to scripting and release with an accent on systemic game design and progression loops. Focus on utilizing RuneScript for content implementation, creating clear design documentation, and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams for weekly updates.

Location: Must be based in or be able to relocate to Cambridge, UK. Permanent right to work in the UK is mandatory (no sponsorship provided).

What you will do

  • Design and implement varied content across multiple areas of RuneScape, taking ownership of smaller tasks and contributing to larger projects.
  • Script game content using the in-house RuneScript language to bring designs to life directly in the game.
  • Create and maintain detailed design documentation to support team collaboration.
  • Deepen knowledge of existing game systems and community feedback to ensure seamless content integration.
  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, artists, and community teams to deliver high-quality weekly updates.
  • Engage with the RuneScape community to understand and implement player needs and desires.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of RuneScape (skills, quests, progression) is essential.
  • Understanding of MMORPG content loops and systemic game design principles.
  • Basic experience with scripting or programming.
  • Ability to manage time and communicate progress effectively.
  • Experience working collaboratively in game development, modding, or related creative fields.
  • Permanent right to work in the UK.
