Location: Candidates must be based within a commutable distance (up to 1.5 hours) of Krakow, Poland office. Remote-first model with periodic in-person gatherings.

What you will do

• Drive design and architecture of complex, scalable systems across engineering pillars, solving scalability, reliability, and quality challenges.
• Conduct design reviews at pillar and organization levels.
• Lead operational maturity improvements and promote best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering managers and principals to shape technology strategy and roadmap.
• Partner with Product and Engineering Managers to set and drive technical delivery milestones.
• Build leadership as go-to expert across technologies and communicate with stakeholders.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in commercial software development.
• Demonstrated excellence in cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments.
• Expertise in troubleshooting production issues.
• Experience building scalable, distributed systems from conception to production.
• Knowledge of software architecture, design principles, and best practices.
• Experience with AWS or Azure, OOP languages like Java, Python, or Scala, SQL and NoSQL databases.
