What you will do

• Install, configure, and manage PostgreSQL on bare-metal servers.
• Optimize PostgreSQL for high-performance OLAP and analytical workloads, including schema, indexing, and partitioning.
• Build and maintain comprehensive database monitoring, alerting, and performance dashboards.
• Identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks across the database, OS, storage, and hardware layers.
• Design and recommend infrastructure for maximum performance, focusing on server and storage configurations.
• Establish best practices for database operation, maintenance, backup, recovery, and capacity planning.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL and performance tuning in self-managed or bare-metal environments.
• Proven experience operating PostgreSQL outside of cloud-managed services.
• Strong understanding of OLAP systems and performance tuning for analytical workloads.
• Ability to diagnose bottlenecks across queries, indexing, memory, CPU, disk, and I/O (including NVMe SSDs).
• Comfortable working hands-on across both database and infrastructure layers.
• Must be based in or be able to work full-time from the Shanghai office.
