Quality Assurance Engineer II

Quality Assurance Engineer II (Autonomous Haulage System): Develop and maintain risk-based test plans and automation frameworks for autonomous mining truck fleet management systems with an accent on AHS architecture, safety constraints, and CI/CD integration. Focus on designing end-to-end quality strategies, shift-left testing practices, and metrics-driven improvements for distributed real-time systems.

Location: Onsite in Tucson, Arizona, USA. Up to 10% travel, including international.

What you will do

• Maintain deep understanding of AHS architecture to create risk-based test plans and automated coverage.
• Partner with teams to refine requirements with measurable acceptance criteria and automated validation.
• Own end-to-end quality strategy including functional, performance, security, and failover testing in CI/CD pipelines.
• Design and enhance automation frameworks with service virtualization and containerized environments.
• Drive shift-left culture, manage test data, and lead manual exploratory tests with automated regression suites.
• Facilitate postmortems, publish dashboards, mentor engineers, and support field teams during deployments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software/Systems Engineering, or related.
• 4+ years in software/systems testing, 2+ years in test automation.
• Proficient in Java, Python, or C#; strong REST/gRPC API and UI automation.
• Hands-on with CI/CD, containerization, infrastructure-as-code.
• Ability to lead test strategies for complex distributed systems and mentor QA resources.
• Up to 10% travel; excellent analytical and communication skills.

Nice to have

• 3+ years full software development lifecycle experience.
• Event-driven microservices, REST APIs, network protocols, distributed debugging.
