Senior Lead Engineer (React/Node.js/AWS)

Senior Lead Engineer (React/Node.js/AWS): Architecting and building a national-scale platform for work-based learning that empowers students with real employer challenges with an accent on component-based, scalable, and secure microservices. Focus on designing high-quality software solutions, leading agile operations, and collaborating with product and design teams to ensure system robustness and efficiency.

Location: Fully remote in USA. Hybrid option (Tuesday and Wednesday in office) if living near NYC or Reston, VA offices. Must have authorization to work in the United States. Ability to travel 3-5 times a year to NYC or Reston, VA offices.

Salary: $185,000 – $200,000

What you will do

• Design and implement scalable, secure software using JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js, and AWS Serverless with focus on microservices and code reuse.
• Maintain high engineering standards, decompose product features, and build using Agile, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
• Lead Agile SCRUM ceremonies, peer reviews, production issue resolution, and poly-skilled team operations.
• Understand customer business processes, evaluate feature requests, provide estimates, and contribute to sprint planning.
• Participate in design research, user interviews, prototyping, and code/design reviews with Product Management and Design.

Requirements

• 10+ years of production software development experience managing full lifecycle of features.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js, AWS Serverless; code review for testability, maintainability, scalability.
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration with teams, backlog prioritization with Product Owners.
• Ability to pitch ideas, implement processes, mentor, provide feedback, and participate in interviews.
• Authorization to work in the United States; ability to travel 3-5 times/year to NYC or Reston, VA.
