What you will do

• Define and implement target architecture for build systems, toolchains, dependency modeling, and artifact lifecycle management.
• Design and deliver hermetic and reproducible build systems including executor access control and network isolation.
• Standardize artifact versioning, storage, promotion, and consumption patterns across dev, CI, and release environments.
• Optimize build and test performance using caching and incremental builds.
• Develop self-service tooling to improve overall developer productivity.
• Lead cross-team adoption of new build practices and modernize legacy systems without disrupting delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience with Linux-based distributed systems.
• Experience with large-scale build systems, toolchains, and artifact management.
• Proven track record of cross-team leadership and strong communication skills.
• Must be legally authorized to access controlled technology under US Export Administration Regulations.
• This position is located on-site in San Jose, CA.

Nice to have

• Experience with reproducible/hermetic builds and familiarity with GUIX or similar tools.
• Experience with build graph optimization and caching.
• Knowledge of artifact signing and supply chain security.
• Experience in modernizing complex build ecosystems.
