TL;DR

Staff Accountant (Finance): Supports Accounts Payable and broader Accounting function with a focus on travel and expense processes, transaction review, and month-end close activities. Focus on administering expense platforms, reviewing reports for compliance, preparing journal entries, performing reconciliations, and supporting audits.

Location: Toronto Office, Hybrid (one day in office per week on Tuesdays + occasional in-person events). Toronto candidates only.

What you will do

  • Administer travel and expense platforms like Navan, Expensify, Uber, including user management and support.
  • Review expense reports and credit card submissions for accuracy, coding, and policy compliance.
  • Prepare and post journal entries for expenses and cash activity.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations and tie-outs to platform statements.
  • Support month-end close, general ledger activities, reporting, analysis, and ad hoc projects.
  • Identify process improvements, support implementation, and handle audit requests.

Requirements

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an Accounting role.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Willingness to work hybrid in Toronto office (one day/week).

Nice to have

  • Experience with NetSuite and T&E tools.
