Reconciliation Specialist (Healthcare Billing): Supporting billing teams by reconciling insurance payments and posting them into billing systems with an accent on accuracy, HIPAA compliance, and accounts receivable monitoring. Focus on interpreting EOBs/ERAs, managing insurance portals, and identifying payment discrepancies to ensure prompt reimbursement.
Location: Remote (Limited to the following US states: AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, IA, MO, NC, NE, NY, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA)

What you will do
- Reconcile electronic payments from clearinghouses and post manual payments across multiple billing platforms.
- Review and interpret EOBs and ERAs to ensure accurate accounts receivable monitoring.
- Manage insurance portals and enroll in ERAs to reduce manual posting volume.
- Identify underpayments or overpayments and communicate trends to the AR team for resolution.
- Maintain strict HIPAA-compliant confidentiality for all client-related data.
- Review payor contracts and monitor key performance metrics.
Requirements
- HS Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1-2 years of payment posting experience.
- Experience in ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) and using insurance company websites/portals.
- Exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
- Must be based in one of the approved US states.
Nice to have
- Experience in Speech, OT, or Mental Health billing.
- Experience in billing for major commercial insurance companies and state Medicaid programs.
- Proficiency with Billing Software (Azalea, Kareo), EMR (Rethink), and Clearinghouse systems (Waystar, Trizetto, Availity).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
