UI/UX Design Intern (Internal Platforms): Reimagine the user experience of internal platform relied on by employees daily with an accent on clean, modern, minimalistic interfaces and reusable component libraries. Focus on auditing friction points, building prototypes end-to-end, and tracking UX metrics like task completion time and satisfaction.

Location: Hybrid in Foster City, CA (Bay Area). Ability to relocate to the Bay Area, CA required for the 12-week internship (June 15th - September 4th, 2026)

Salary: $5,500–$6,500 monthly

What you will do

• Audit existing internal platform to identify friction points, inconsistencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Design clean, modern interfaces prioritizing clarity, hierarchy, and speed of use.
• Build and contribute to reusable component library and design system for consistency.
• Partner with engineering, product, and end-users for validation via interviews, usability tests, and iteration.
• Translate complex workflows into intuitive UI patterns following best practices.
• Define and track UX metrics to measure impact.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or related field — or self-taught with strong portfolio
• Good academic standing
• Able to commit to 12-week summer 2026 internship: June 15th - September 4th
• Ability to relocate to Bay Area, CA for duration
• Portfolio demonstrating modern, minimalistic design grounded in usability
• Fluency in Figma for components, variants, auto-layout
• Understanding of UI fundamentals: typography, spacing, color theory, contrast, accessibility (WCAG), responsive design
• Familiarity with design systems
• Strong communication to explain design decisions
• Self-directed and outcome-oriented

Nice to have

• Experience designing for B2B, enterprise, or internal tooling
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS or front-end frameworks (React, Tailwind) for prototyping
• Exposure to motion design, micro-interactions, or design tokens
