What you will do

• Manage, hire, and develop a team of engineers focused on metrics products like Mimir OSS and Grafana Cloud Metrics.
• Provide feedback, support career growth, and act as project manager alongside product owners to maintain roadmaps.
• Engage in technical discussions, challenge teams on decisions, and promote autonomy in technical and product choices.
• Facilitate cross-team collaboration, remove blockers, and improve engineering practices for high performance.
• Occasionally interact with large enterprise customers using Mimir for operations monitoring.
• Stay current with technical trends to guide teams on distributed systems challenges.

Requirements

• Located in Germany, Sweden, Spain, Ireland, or the UK for remote work.
• Experienced people manager coaching senior engineers on complex projects.
• Strong technical background in distributed systems, scalability, and cloud-native technologies like Go, Kubernetes, Helm.
• Self-starter able to navigate ambiguity, align stakeholders, and drive outcomes.
• Comfortable in fully remote, cross-timezone collaboration with clear communication.
• Solid understanding of production systems including fault tolerance and observability.

Nice to have

• Computer Science degree or equivalent engineering experience.
• Experience with AI-assisted tooling and integrating it into workflows.
• Knowledge of Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, or major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
