Tax Manager | SALT

TL;DR

Tax Manager (SALT): Overseeing tax compliance, planning, and accounting for multi-state operations with an accent on income apportionment, nexus studies, and sales/use tax matters. Focus on leading audit defense, voluntary disclosures, transaction structuring, and compliance across jurisdictions.

Location: Hybrid in Coral Gables, FL (offices also in Coral Springs, Boca Raton, Aventura, FL). US East Coast-based team with EST working hours.

What you will do

• Lead income apportionment, allocation, and multi-state projects.
• Conduct and review tax nexus studies for compliance.
• Handle sales/use tax reviews, audit defense, and planning.
• Guide on sourcing methods, Public Law 86-272, and disclosures.
• Develop strategies for transactions, due diligence, and audits.
• Supervise compliance reporting and protests across jurisdictions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s in Accounting/Taxation/Finance preferred; CPA strongly preferred).
• 5+ years in CPA firm or SALT with managerial experience.
• Extensive knowledge of state/local tax laws and strategies.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage projects, mentor staff, meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in tax tools like CCH, UltraTax CS, QuickBooks.
